Introduction
|
Chinese Acupuncture published by the Peoples Medical Publishing House is used as the textbook for the course. Based on the essential knowledge of TCM obtained previously participants will learn tongue observation and pulse palpation of the four diagnostic methods, differentiation of syndrome according to the theory of Zang-fu organs, needling techniques , application of specific points and the treatment of common diseases. Participants will be able to acquire a thorough understanding of the basic theory of traditional Chinese medicine, a systematic knowledge about the theory of meridians and collaterals and a mastery of the locations, indications and needling of some 250 points. Consequently, they will be able to treat about 40 common diseases and some difficult diseases by determining the treatment according to differentiation of syndromes, and by prescribing and combining points.

Essentials of Chinese Acupuncture published by the People’s Medical Publishing House has been adopted as the textbook for the course. Participants in the three month course will be able to acquire a general understanding of the basic theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and a preliminary mastery of the fundamentals of acupuncture and moxibustion in relation to basic techniques of manipulation and locations of about 120 commonly used points, as well as the treating methods of about 25 common diseases by applying the differentiation of syndrome according to the theory of meridians and collaterals.

|
The courses involve the origin, pathogenesis and classification of pains, application of four diagnostic methods, the key points for differentiating pains, the acupuncture therapies, methods for common pains and personal experiences in managing pains.

|
Introduction of various diagnostic methods of TCM and the clinical application of the methods explained with case analysis are offered in the courses. The essentials of herbal medicine in the aspects of individual herbs, herbal recipes, and patent Chinese medicine are covered in the courses, which concern the theory of herbal properties (four properties, five flavors), meridian tropism, compatibility of herbs , contraindications, etc. 120 kinds of herbs involving classification, properties, actions, indications and compatibility will be included, on the basis of which 50 prescriptions concerning the regularity in formulating prescriptions, therapeutic principles, modification of prescriptions, and preparation of decoctions will be learned, the courses will also introduce 50 patent medicines, with which treatment of diseases in the clinic will be studied.

Tuina Therapy is the one of important Traditional Chinese Therapies，Tuina course includes 10 basic manipulations:

Accommodation
Accommodation Facility: There are student dormitories in the training center, which are lodging and studying places specially provided to foreign students who come to study here. There are altogether 13 guest rooms with 31 beds, 7 classrooms of varying sizes and 2 meeting rooms. 11 staff members are responsible for daily management of the accommodation. Facilities in the guest rooms are complete, which include bath, electrical appliances and common furniture.
Bath: 24 hours hot water and separate bathrooms.
Electrical Appliances: urban call, air conditioning, cable TV, refrigerator, microwave oven and electric heater.
Furniture: wardrobe, bed, desk, chair and television cabinet.
Bedding: bedspread, white quilt, wool blanket, towel blanket, sheet and bath towel.
In a word, there are complete lighting, fire control and communication systems in the guest rooms of our center incorporating study, lodging, visiting, receiving guests, dining, shopping and traveling, which makes it an ideal staying place for students to study, travel and go shopping.
Specification: At present there are altogether 13 guest rooms with 31 beds in our training center. The specification of them is equal to that of guest rooms in the hotel. Fee of the rooms is calculated by the day.

Tuition fee: Registration, clinical practice, transpiration to and from practice hospitals and transportation to and from the airport are all included in the tuition fee.
Living expenses: Applicants should pay expenses themselves, including travel to and from China, room and board, city transportation, and medical costs, etc. Freshly boiled water for drinks is delivered in a vacuum flask to each room every morning.
Boarding: There are Chinese restaurants on campus, where the daily cost of three meals is about US$2-3. There are also other restaurants very nearby.
Internet: There is ADSL broadband in the dormitory. The monthly coast is RMB 100 per person. (Bring your own computer if you wish to use this service)
