If pain around Jianyu (LI 15) on the large intestine meridian, needling strip-shaped area around Sanjian (LI 3) and tenderness point (beside the second metacarpal bone);
If pain in posterior aspect of the shoulder, needling Yanglingquan (GB 34) on the opposite site, the tenderness point is around 0.5 cun below Yanglingquan (GB 34).
Inserting the needles when cough or when moving the shoulders, selecting points accurately; inserting the needles vertically (90o between handle of the needle and metacarpal bone) firstly, penetrating strip-shaped area and reaching metacarpal bone, then erecting handle of the needle and needling between strip-shaped and metacarpal bone, at this moment, the needling senstation is the strongest. 3-10 times a course.
