8. Apoplexy involving fu organs—light cases
Manifestations: dizziness and blur version, bitter taste in the mouth, dryness of the tongue, numbness of half of the body, paralysis of feet and hands.
Acupoints: Baihui (DU 20), Fengfu (DU 16), Zhongwan (RN 12), Zhangmen (LR 13), Quchi (LI 11), Neiguan (PC 6), Hegu (LI 4), Zusanli (ST 36), Yanglingquan (GB 34) and Sanyinjiao (SP 6).
9. Apoplexy involving fu organs—severe cases
Manifestations: poor appetite, anuresis and constipation, disharmony of six fu organs, weakness of intestine and stomach, indigestion, other manifestations as the above.
Acupoints: Danshu (BL 19), Weishu (BL 21), Sanjiaoshu (BL 22), Dachangshu (BL 25), Xiaochangshu (BL 27), Pangguangshu (BL 28), healthy side firstly, then affected side, with reinforcing method.
10. Apoplexy involving zang organs—light cases
Manifestations: blockage of nine orifices, yin deficiency and yang excess, slurred speech, dull eyes, numbness and heaviness of half of the body, spasm of hands and feet, upper limbs cannot be lifted and lower limbs are stiff. This is yin deficiency and decline of five zang organs.
Acupoints: Feishu (BL 13), Xinshu (BL 15), Ganshu (BL 18), Pishu (BL 20), Shenshu (BL 23), and Geshu (BL 17).
11. Apoplexy involving zang organs—severe cases
Manifestations: aphasia with stiff tongue, salivation, sitting down and turning over are supported by others, other manifestations as the above.
Acupoints: Juque (RN 14), Zhongwan (RN 12), Guanyuan (RN 4), Zhongji (RN 3), Zhongfu ( LU 1), Qimen (LR 14), Zhangmen (LR 13), Jingmen (GB 25), Tianshu (ST 25).
For aphasia with stiff tongue, add Yamen (DU 15) and Zhongchong (PC 9), for aphasia with soft tongue, add Fengfu (DU 16) and Tongli (HT 5).
