【Ingredients】
Chaihu (Radix Bupleuri) 24g; ----monarch drug
Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae) 9g; ----minister drug
Renshen (Radix Gingseng) 9g; ----adjuvant drug
Zhigancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Praeparatae) 6g; ----guiding drug
Banxia (Rhizoma Pinelliae) 9g; ----adjuvant drug
Shengjiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens) 9g; ----adjuvant drug
Dazao (Fructus Ziziphi Jujubae) 4 pcs. ----adjuvant drug
【Administration】
Decoct the drugs in water for oral use.
【Actions】
Treating shaoyang disease by mediation.
【Clinical application】
Xiao Chaihu Tang (Minor Decoction of Bupleurum) is used to treat febrile diseases in shaoyang meridian, marked by alternate attacks of chills and fever, fullness in the chest, hypochondriac discomfort, dysphoria, retching, bitter taste in the mouth, dry throat, thin and whitish tongue coating, taut pulse.
It is application to common cold, influenza, chronic hepatitis, acute or chronic cholecystitis, pleuritis, pyelonephritis, postpartum infection, gastric ulcer and other diseases, which manifest the above symptoms and pertain to febrile disease in shaoyang meridian.
