Thoroughfare and conception vessels

Both of them originate from uterus, thoroughfare vessel runs parallel to kidney meridian, links with Yangming meridian and gets function to regulate qi and blood of all the twelve regular meridians, so it is the sea of blood; conception vessel dominates uterus, meets with three yin meridian of foot on lower abdomen, regulates qi of all the yin meridians, so it is the sea of yin meridians. When qi and blood in twelve regular meridians are ample, qi and blood can be infused into uterus with regulation of thoroughfare and conception vessels, then menstruation can come. Rise and fall of thoroughfare and conception vessels depend on adjustment of Tian Gui. Clinically, dysfunction of thoroughfare and conception vessels can lead to irregular menstruation, infertility etc.
