【Source】
  Source is from the root of Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim., family Cucurbitaceae.


【Properties】
  Sweet and slightly bitter in flavor, slightly cold in nature, attributive to lung and stomach meridians.


【Actions】
  Clear away heat, promote the production of body fluids, resolve swelling, drain pus.


【Application】
  1. Tianhuafen is used for febrile disease with thirst, diabetes, frequent drinking. Tianhuafen can clear away heat, promote production of body fluids.
  2. Tianhuafen can clear away lung-heat, moisturize lung, it is used for dry cough due to lung-heat.
                     3. Pyocutaneous disease of heat type, whether the infection is ulcerous or not.
